On November 23, 2024, Vietnamese sport climbing made history. For the first time ever, an officially licensed indoor climbing championship—sanctioned by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Sports and Culture—was held in Saigon. The HCMC Indoor Climbing Championship 2024, hosted by Push Climbing at Crescent Wall, brought together the country’s strongest climbers for a one-day event that pushed limits, showcased talent, and set a new benchmark for climbing in Vietnam.

A National Milestone on Local Holds

This was more than a championship. It was a defining moment. As the first step toward the formation of the Vietnam Sport Climbing Federation, the event followed official IFSC rules and featured two disciplines: Lead and Bouldering. Final scores were based on a combined ranking from both categories—designed to highlight the most versatile and well-rounded climbers in the country.

Despite being a one-day championship, the energy inside Crescent Wall was electric from start to finish. Athletes, spectators, and the climbing community came together to celebrate this momentous leap forward.
