Join us for a one-hour introductory session on basic Lead climbing to get all your questions about this aspect of climbing style answered.

Key Focus

Getting acquainted with equipment: Learn the basics of climbing gear such as ropes, quickdraws, and carabiners.
Locking practice: Practice locking carabiners onto quickdraws on the ground, simulating the action of clipping while climbing.
Communication during belaying: Learn basic safety commands such as “slack” and “take” or “clip”, etc.

Overview

This introductory session will give you a general overview of Lead climbing and basic techniques. However, further instruction and practice are necessary before you can climb independently.
