Category Selection Process for Rocktober 2024

Your qualifying round performance will determine your category for Rocktober 2024. Climb your best to maximize your points and secure a spot in the category that suits your skill level.

Category Breakdown:

• Beginner: Participants in the lower third of the overall ranking.
• Intermediate: Participants in the middle third of the overall ranking.
• Open: The top third of participants based on overall ranking.

To add to the excitement, we’re keeping the exact point thresholds for each category a secret. This encourages everyone to climb their hardest and see where they land.

Whether you’re a seasoned climber or just starting out, Rocktober 2024 offers a chance to compete and test your limits.Every climb counts. Give it your all in the qualifying round and see where your skills take you!

Additional Information:

• Category placement will be finalized after the qualifying round.
• All participants will receive their category assignments before the main finals begin.
• Categories separated for women and men groups.
• All winners of Vietnamese Nationality will be invited to the National Climbing Competition on November 24, 2024 free of charge.
• Kindly be informed: In Rocktober 2024, athletes will be ranked based on their scores from the qualifying round; therefore, athletes don’t need to select a competition category in the registration link
• All participants under 16 years old should have a parent or guardian permission.

Categories 2024:

• Top Rope (minimum age 12+): Beginner & Intermediate

• Lead Climbing (minimum age 12+): Intermediate & Open

Participants of the lead climbing category must successfully pass a lead climbing test before the competition. In the event that a participant does not pass the test, they will be offered the option to switch to any other category of their choice.

• Bouldering (minimum age 10+): Beginner, Intermediate & Open

For the bouldering competition, participants are required to have a basic understanding of falling techniques. Additionally, participants below the age of 14 must provide a parental agreement for their participation.

**The Sponsor’s Goodie Bag contains the sponsor’s in-kind gifts and can vary from year to year based on the extent of the Sponsor’s contribution.

*** Winner’s Prizes include Trophy by category, membership at the facility and sponsor’s prizes that will not be revealed until the award ceremony, because we want to encourage you to compete for fun, not for stuff.

Ticket sale starts on September 20th, 2024.

• Regular Ticket Sales: September 20th – October 18, 2024.
  Ticket Price: 550.000 VND/ 1 Category
  Ticket Price: 800.000 VND/ 2 Category
• Member Ticket Sales: September 20th – October 18, 2024.Ticket Price: 400.000 VND/ 1 Category
  Ticket Price: 600.000 VND/ 2 Category
  *Members should register before the event to keep his/ her spot in the competition.

Important Information:

• Limited Number of participants: 200 spots only.
• Every ticket includes a participant kit and access to the event to the facility.
• Rental Equipment (shoes & harness) is not included in the ticket cost. Rental gear can be rented on the day of the event. Prices for rental equipment can be checked here.
• If the participant didn’t show up on the day of the event – without prior notification, their spot will be lost. Participant Kit can be picked up after the event.
• In the case, if you compete in two categories, please be aware that you will need to compete for two straight days
• Tickets can be purchased only in the approved partner’s locations or at Push Climbing facilities. Prior to purchase the ticket – please register.
